How to Guarantee the Verticality of X, Y Movement

The verticality of the two axes are based on their respective straightness, therefore first guarantee their respective straightness, then their mutual verticality.

The verticality of the two axes completely depends on the verticality of the two groups of guide rails on center splint, when assembling, fix one group of guide rails on the base, survey and adjust, after another group of guide rails plumbs the base, then fix and nail hole, thus fix the verticality of the two groups of guide rails on the center splint. In the process of assembling and surveying, the precision should be enhanced a grade intentionally, because no matter installing equipment, repairing or actual effect for a period of time, all can make this precision become inaccurate, if exhaust all the permission erroneous value in the initial installment, that the later precision will be overbalanced and inaccurate. For example, some machine tool’s precision standard is 0.02, and then the internally piloting precision of the first assembly should below 0.012.

Similar to the straightness, the active state of lead screw is also an important factor to affect the verticality. Any external force that has a certain included angle with the guide rail locating surface will cause the exceptional movement of guide rail, because the guide rail has not been clamped. Therefore once discovered the verticality of X, Y axis exceeds the allowed figure, must earnestly judge that it is caused by the guide rail’s own deformation or dislocation, or disturbed by the movement of lead screw. If it is caused by the guide rail’s guidance function, separately loosen and fasten the lead screw and nut repeatedly at several positions, its direction and value which exceeds the allowed figure should roughly stable. If it is caused by the disturbance of the movement of lead screw and nut, it will lose the regularity of direction and value. Surely do not blindly loosen the fixed pine of guide rail, and pull out the dowel. Once do like that, must repeat the entire process of assembly and debugging like the first time as the above statement.

Any survey and adjustment must be carried on after the guide rail’s movement is steady, if it kicks or the disorder torsional pendulum occurs, that means the guide rail is too dirty or there’s some impurity, the adjustment must be carried on after being firmly wiped up and lubricated, this must be kept firmly in mind.
